My debut novella about Noa, a young vrykan (a barbaric humanoid race of demi-giants), who somehow awakens after being killed during a rite of passage. After being wrongfully convicted and sentenced to exile from the frozen wastelands, he is killed yet again. He awakens in what seems to be an arena with only female prisoners as combatants. as he struggles to find his bearings, learn about the other world he visits every time he dies, and master the art of embering (this world's magic system), he discovers nothing is as it seems, not even the current time period. Not to mention the owner of the arena seems to hate him personally, and wants nothing more than his permanent death.
